Gifting ideas when you can’t shop during lockdown
If you have a family member or friend who is going to have a birthday during lockdown, or your anniversary is coming up – never fear! Just because you can’t get to the shops doesn’t mean you get off gift-free. Here are 5 great gift ideas that you can pull off in the comfort of your own home:
Cake cake cake!
Baking a birthday or anniversary cake is a no-brainer that still packs a sweet punch. Write a cute note on top, like “There’s no one I’d rather be quarantined with!”. Check out sites like Pinterest for more ideas.
Music or movies
Take over their payments of iTunes, Spotify, Netflix or Showmax for a few months. They may still need it for a while!
An online class
Invest so they can learn a new skill. You could even do it together, which will add to the feeling of sharing the love. Check out Udemy or Coursera.
Snacky-snacks
Let’s be honest, all we really want is more food to eat at this stage. Some of our fave food stores are still delivering delish treats. Try: Netflorist’s gourmet boxes, Yuppiechef’s subscription boxes, or The Little Box Co.
A Zoom surprise party
Get hold of all their friends and family and set up a secret Zoom call. On the day, send them the invite and let them spend some time with everyone they haven’t seen in a while!
Gap cover
Okay, so we might be biased, but we think making sure your loved ones never have to worry about paying for the gap between what their doctors charge and what their medical aid covers is a great gift!
